Travis Nevins has 25 years of experience in the architectural glass and metal industry, starting with 4 years as a shop fabricator for a contract glazier. He spent five years as a New York State registered glazier apprentice before becoming a journey-level glazier at IUPAT District Council 4, Local 677. While working as a journey person, he taught health, safety, and journey person upgrading courses for 5 years. He spent seven years on staff at IUPAT District Council 4 before transitioning to a role at the IUPAT's International Union in 2021. His perspective is from the standpoint of an installer who has been fortunate to see the other sides of the industry.
