Learn to Have Uncomfortable Conversations to Save Lives: Mental Health Panel at GlassBuild

suicide stops here

Taking place on the GlassBuild Main Stage on Tue., Oct. 31 at 12:30 pm, GlassBuild America will feature a panel presentation on mental health and suicide prevention in the construction industry.

Over 5,000 people working in construction die by suicide each year, vs. 1,000 who die on job sites, indicating that ensuring emotional safety is just as important as the physical safety of our workforce. Join us for this essential and meaningful discussion of awareness, signs of risk, and how to start and have uncomfortable conversations to help others.

Panel participants will include moderator Richard Bright, COO of the American Subcontractors Association; Cal Beyer, national leader, workplace mental health and suicide prevention; Bob Swanson, retired president of Swanson & Youngdale, Inc.; and Kristen Petillo, area director, Georgia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

NGA's own Mel Dettmer shares her story on LinkedIn.
