Multiple-Durometer Seals + High-Performance Coatings

Cooper Standard Industrial and Specialty Group’s (ISG) dual- and tri-extrusion materials create a profile with excellent compression set on the sealing side and a rigid base (slide-in or kerf mounted) that is easily inserted into a channel. Multiple-durometer profiles can be manufactured from EPDM, high-temperature silicone and plastic.

Such multiple-durometer profiles are derived from our iDea® Seal Technology. This co-polymer design features a custom or standard EPDM bulb and rigid plastic base. The result is a seal with an excellent compression set that easily slides into a channel and minimizes stretch.

High-performance coatings can also elevate seal performance. Slip coatings further improve part installation (low coefficient of friction), abrasion resistance or enhance aesthetics. In addition, coatings can offer long-term durability due to their excellent heat and freeze release properties, great weatherability and chemical resistance.

The coating process is performed in-line with the polymer extrusion, making it a cost-effective way to add value to our customers products. Cooper Standard ISG has the ability to coat an entire sheet, or a localized area, to meet your specific application performance requirements.

EnerEDGE Warm-Edge Spacer

EnerEDGE® is a pre-desiccated, ready-to-apply, cellular silicone warm-edge spacer that is suitable for a wide range of insulating glass constructions in fenestration applications. EnerEDGE spacer is inset and applied to a glass lite’s perimeter to enable fabrication of dual and triple-glazed IG units in conjunction with a quality applied perimeter sealant.

Isomelt DM15 Desiccant Matrix

NovaFlex Ultra-Low Migration High Impact Glazing Sealant

Engineered to prevent any harm from coming to the IG secondary seal, NovaFlex Ultra-Low Migration High Impact Glazing Sealant develops a sure bond to most substrates and offers extremely high tensile strength to provide the longest lasting seal possible for high-impact windows.

NovaFlex Ultra-Low Migration High Impact Glazing Sealant is a non-corrosive, single-component, oxime silicone sealant and/or adhesive. A non-flowable, paste product, it presents an excellent balance between rate of cure, adhesion, and physical properties. It is designed to have ultra-low plasticizer migration into the IG secondary seal. This protects other window components from attack and degradation. This conforms to the recommendation of IG manufacturers on all Impact Window fabrication to ensure a long lasting seal. This product has been approved as part of the system to obtain Miami-Dade and HVHZ approval for glazing applications.

NovaFlex Ultra-Low Migration High Impact Glazing Sealant develops bond to most common substrates without the use of a primer. This ready-to-use, single-component compound is typically used as an adhesive to bond dissimilar materials, as a sealant for creating formed-in-place gaskets, or a multitude of other applications. It emits a lower odor than conventional acetoxy-cured silicones.
